QUAN HOÁ CO-OPERATIVE FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT -THANH HOÁ (CRD)

Rural development co-operative in Quan Hóa district, Thanh Hóa province was founded by LDP project of Gret, in order to work as an autonomous unit in remote area, gathering knowledgeable and experienced individuals working in programmes, projects to provide professional services in rural development, with priority given to disadvantaged, vulnerable groups by creating new jobs, improving incomes as well as protecting natural resources and environment.

CRD’s own objectives
CRD was founded to
• Better complete profession and operation field of members
• Meet new demand of diversification in rural development
• Create sustainable exchange and cooperation among actors
• gradually improve position of the organization in civil society
• improve capacity and experience

Founded on November the 5th 2008
• With 19 members: 8 female, 11 male
• Qualifications: bachelor and post-graduate degree
• over 3 years of experiences in implementation and management of projects by Gret and Mekong Bamboo
• experiences in negotiations with local authority and civil organizations
• facilities and working equipments

Fields at CRD’s readiness:
• Provision of services, consultancy in agro-forestry
• Development of value chain, market for luong and support local processing workshops
• Research and consultancy on livelihood, environment, gender and community development
• Cooperation with organizations to implement rural development programs
• Documentation and dissemination
