INTRODUCTION ABOUT GRET- VIETNAM

GRET has been working in Vietnam since 1988. So far, GRET has developed diversified forms of support in agriculture, rural development, community health and institutional development. During its long term growth in Vietnam, expertise of the technical assistants, the profound knowledge of rural context and local regulations, capacity of coordination of all types of projects (from projects with the most humble scale to the most complicated one), experience of Gret in publication of references have contributed to prestige of the organization, which is convenient for our activities.

Close cooperation with national partners and NGOs allowed us to combine and implement many programs and projects. Through trials of new development modes, these projects are all for the sake of rural residents living in the most disadvantaged areas. Thanks to support and training courses of GRET, poor residents in those areas are able to access technical advancements and the most advanced production arrangements. Ultimate objective is to improve living conditions for these poor people.

Gret is currently implementing in Vietnam the following programs and projects: Fasevie program on nutrition for schoolchildren in Quảng Nam, Hà Tĩnh, Đà Nẵng; livelihood development project in the Central (Kontum province); development projects for the poor in Cao Bằng, Bắc Kạn; bamboo luong value chain development project in Thanh Hóa (the interim). Gret has one representative office in Hanoi and project offices based in the intervention provinces.
